BEN E. HUNTER

FOLK MUSIC

AFRO-CARIBBEAN

NEW ORLEANS

Born and raised in New Orleans’ richest musical communities, Ben showcases original songs that explore the city through his lived experience. His unique New Orleans Afro-Caribbean Folk music intimately combines the closely related musical histories of reggae, Black masking Indian chants, and West African beats. This profound sound inspires a new musical truth.

"Ben Hunter knows that Jamaican ska and reggae owe a boatload of thanks to New Orleans for the inspiration its music has had on the island going all the way back to the 1940s. Ben's skillful blending of guitar-rich Rockers riddims and soulful Big Easy vibes hits the sweet spot every time..."
